Logs, boulders & plinths

Imaginature contains countless logs and boulders, as well as plinths from the Garrett Rd Bridge – all of significant size and weight and therefore of significant awkwardness to move.

The logs, boulders and plinths have been incorporated in various places throughout Imaginature; forming edges, creating cosy spaces and offering opportunities for balancing, climbing and cubby making.

It would not have been remotely possible for Imaginature to have incorporated these logs, boulders or plinths without gardening committee members Hamish Wiggens and Novak de Jong who, with their versatile machines, moved them with great skill (only to be asked on more than one occasion to move them again – sorry!)

These logs and boulders have been:

  • salvaged from the school (when tree lopping has occurred)
  • donated by the City of Bayswater
  • donated by a number of tree lopping businesses who have delivered them to us progressively over the years
  • sourced for free from Gumtree.

The plinths were sourced for free from the Garrett Road Bridge when the pylons were replaced in 2017.
